Tungsten-molybdenum alloy
An alloy composed of tungsten and molybdenum. Commonly used tungsten-molybdenum alloys contain 30% to 50% tungsten (by mass). Tungsten molybdenum alloys are produced in the same way as molybdenum metal and molybdenum alloys, i.e., both powder metallurgy post-sintering processing and smelting processing to produce rods, plates, wires or other profiles.
Introduction
Tungsten molybdenum alloys containing 30% tungsten (by mass) have excellent corrosion resistance to liquid zinc and are used in the manufacture of stirrers, pipe and vessel linings and other components in the zinc refining industry. Tungsten molybdenum alloy can be used as high-temperature components in rockets and missiles, filaments and parts of electronic tubes and other high-temperature materials under corresponding high-temperature conditions because of its good high-temperature strength and similar performance to tungsten and smaller specific gravity than tungsten.
