Silver-tungsten alloy combines the advantages of silver and tungsten, high melting point, high specific gravity, easy cutting, high electrical conductivity, wear resistance, anti-welding, anti-oxidation, etc.; can make high-quality finish that is difficult to process in general processing equipment and tools ,precision.
Silver tungsten is mainly used in electrode materials and welding materials; such as: low-voltage automatic switches, high-voltage circuit breakers and protection switches.
The binary alloy of silver and tungsten, whether in liquid or solid, is incompatible with silver and tungsten. There are AgW30, AgW60, AgW80
and AgW90. High hardness, strong resistance to arc erosion, anti-adhesion and anti-welding. Manufactured by powder metallurgy. Alloys larger than 60% tungsten are mostly produced by the helium permeation method. Used as low-voltage power switch, lifting switch, locomotive switch, pre-contact of high-current switch, heavy-duty relay, air circuit breaker, etc.
